Ayletts P.O. King William Co. Va. July 20th 1869 Rev R. M. Manly Dear sir; Having Tendered you my rooms - those occupied by the several teacher hereto fore employed at this point by you - and having learned from you that you expected to want them again, I now write to ascertain, definitely whether you want them, for nine months, certainly beginning Oct 1 1869 and ending July 1 1870, at seven dollars pr month, including the use of pine wood only for fuel; and if you do, to signify it by writing on the back of this paper your obligation to take them as herein offered, payable monthly. I have an offer from another party, but having heretofore rented to you I think it only just that I sh'd give you the refusal. Let me hear from you at once, as I am anxious to settle this matter before leaving here. Very Respy &c Ellen H. Smith (over)
