My dear Mr. Manly

If you are taking your vacation at last, I suppose that you do not wish to hear a word about schools, but I must say one or two things.

In the first place, do you know of any place in Virginia where one could establish a real Normal School? that is where we could find from twelve to twenty young people, old enough, cultivated enough & with sufficient character to become teachers after one or two years' training?  We know of three good teachers, each excellent in her way, who could be put into the Normal, Preparatory & Model (Primary) classes, if the place could be found & I want to find it!
