The family with which I am stopping at present do not admit a freedman to any degree of social equality; and yet all their children are expected to attend school. I am sorry to find the prejudice of caste, so prevalent among our people, in the country.
Time alone, it seems, will overcome these obstacles, to their welfare.
I hope to get a place near the church about next Thursday.
