Dear Sir,

Sara I. Mims (cold) left here in steamer today for Bermuda Hds, Miss Gorden, a well educated young colored woman is waiting to her from Mr. Peirce about boarding at City Point she will have as [[?]] as she recd. this information she has a friend at Norfolk Va who is to join her whenever another teacher is wanted there.

Two ladies Miss couch & Miss Eliston will leave here on the 14th for [[?]] Miss Sheren, Attwood Whittaker Sister will leave for Lynchburg in ten days. They would have gone on Thursday last, but the colored people refuse to let us have their church with out rent. Some are holding my teachers back till Mr Yoder comes to some terms with them. If we pay them rent we will require them to pay 1/3 or 1/2 the expense of the school and credit them
