We have finally succeeded in renting a room, not a very desirable one: but - the only one to be obtained.  The rent is seven dollars a month to be paid in advance.  We rented it from November 22nd, some colored carpenters made the seats for us very cheaply we think.  Their whole bill was seventeen dollars.  They made us lovely seats and fixed some of the old ones for us.  We were unable to pay them as the tip
