I taught four girls 169 that had no one to pay for them as they were only living with their relatives and one with her mother and were all unable to pay the tuition. When our school are organized we will write to you again. Our tuition the last years past viz 1867 & 1868 & 1869 was from (50 cts) fifty to (75 cts) seventy-five cents per month for each scholar. This school began by R. Edmunds in 1867; and for aid he sent for me to assist him and I went immediately when my school adjourned for vacation and when it commenced I quit teaching and went back to school. After going to Mrs. Rebecca Greene of Va one session 1866 and Mr.Hull of "Old England" one session the same year and to Miss Keturah A. Townsend (colored) of New York two sessions 1867 and one session 1868, I commenced teaching regular at Brooklyn. My three teachers viz K.A. Townsend, R. Greene, and Hull were highly recommended.

Please answer this letter immediately as I may return to Brooklyn Wednesday morning to finish making up my school.
Dear Sir hoping to hear from you at at an early day.
