I have the honor to make the following Report in answer to Circular No 23, so far as regards Sussex Co. Va.
I can only recommend one location for the establishment of a Freedmens' school and this would be at or in the neighborhood of Sussex Court House. Other locations may be more expedient and desirable, int I have not yet found them. 
I will now answer the interrogatories in said Circular No. 23 Hd. Qrs. Asst. Com. State of Va. dated Richmond Va. July 18th 1866, in their regular order
No 1st The probable number of pupils might be forty.
2nd + 3rd + 4th = No suitable buildings are to be had.
