Sir:

In accordance with Cir 17 Series 1867 Hd Qrs Asst Com Bu &c Dist Va. I have the honor to make the following Report: viz: That I visited the Andrews' School for Freedmen in Boydton Va Aug 27th 1868. There was about one hundred (100) pupils in attendance and they were doing very well. At the commencement of the term nearly evry scholar had the alphabet to learn, but now the most backward pupils are reading easy lessons. And over half the pupils are reading well in advanced readers. There is an increased interest taken in the school both by parents & children.

Very Respectfully
Your Obd't servant
