In compliance with your request I have the honor to make the following statement concerning the crops now being cultivated at the Freedmens camps subject to my control. At Gallatin Tenn there is a crop of corn some Three hundred (300) acres, I have instructed Lieut Hawkins to dispose of it for not less than ten (10) dollars per acre.
At Hendersonville there are two Hundred (200) and fifty acres, of corn, the same instructions have been given Lieut Nesbitt. That will pay up his rolls, Doctors pay &c in full and leave something over.
The Crop at Clarksville Corn and Tobacco, I have directed Capt Brust to continue working, and to await further instructions. The same instructions have been given Lieut Barnes concerning this crop/85 acres cotton and two Hundred (200) in corn. I will go down and see what is best to be done
