Bureau of Refugees, Freedmen and Abandoned Lands,
Headquarters, Easter District of North Carolina,
Newbern, N.C., June 11th, 1866

Col C.A. Cilley
A A Genl

Colonel

I have the honor, most respectfully to request, that instructions may be furnished as to the disposition of the property of a Dr. Masters, which is now occupied by several officers of the Bureau.

Dr. Masters informs me that Col. A.G. Brady (whom I relieved on the 8th inst) turned the property over to him on Saturday, the 9th, the day after he was relieved & as I find no order on file, nor received any notice from Col. Brady of his informal actions. I have refused to sanction such transfers until I should receive the proper order from the assistant Commissioners.

I am Sir Very Respectfully
Your Obedient Servant
W. W. Wiegel,
[[?]] Col & AAG Supt
