Colonel: 

I have the honor to report, that I have not received or issued any rations since the 14th instant. Eight (8) Contracts for labor have been drawn up and witnessed.  The whites and freedmen manifest a desire to enter into written contracts.

Please send me written blanks for that purpose, also blank forms for the collection of money due me for the Commutation of fuel and quarters, and blanks No. 40, Q.M. Dept.

No "Indentures of Apprenticeship" have been drawn up.
