The undersigned represent, that they have been swindled & their money procured by a man representing himself as Lt. John Swartz of the Freedmans Bureau, and having the right to deal with the govt property, rents &c, and to give orders for the delivery of the same.

They represent that he sold to S L Pennoyer one Bale of cotton from the Farm of A.H. Ganett giving an order to the Representation of the Govt. W.A. Hardison for the delivery thereof- and recd the money therefor one hundred & ninety six 80/100 dollars.

That he sold to M.C. McNamara Twenty barrels of corn, giving an order to the Govt Tenant to deliver the same and for which he recd Sixty dollars, which order has not been bound, the agent of the Bureau Lt. Tenant interposing to protect the Govt
