ARTISTS EQUITY ASSOCIATION
4th Annual General Membership Meeting - Apr. 28, 1950

Introduction of delegates
Greetings

This fourth annual meeting, I believe, will be a memorable one. For tonight we have the first opportunity to vote on constitutionally establishing Chapters throughout the country. The formation of Chapters was amongst our original plans and I am very happy, even though it is overdue, that we have reached the point where it is an actuality. We have 13 Chapters as of today, (including Chicago, Kansas City, Los Angeles, Massachusetts, Michigan, New Jersey, New York, Philadelphia, San Francisco, Twin Cities, Baltimore, Cleveland and St. Louis.)
We look with great interest to the formation of these Chapters and the others that will follow. Their programs and activities will be of the utmost importance in shaping the national policy. It is a necessary step in enlarging our scope nationally and Equity will gain immeasurably form their influence and wisdom. They have already applied their talents in initiating constructive regional activity and contributing to the overall structure of Equity. They are most deserving of our applause.
