Being duly sworn deposeth & sayes that the trouble between Dr. Thomas Harwell & Taylor Posey Commenced as follows
Taylor Posey asked the Said [[strikeout]] Taylor [[/strikeout]] Dr Thomas Harwell to give him a written agreement - showing that he would assume the payment of Some debt's that The Said Taylor Posey owed to two colored woem formerly owned by Dr Thomas Harwell

To which Said Dr. Thomas Harwell replyed that his word was sufficient but afterwards told him if he would go to the house he would give him the written agreement he asked for

In their conversation the Said Taylor Posey told the Said Dr Thomas Harwell that he would rather pay a white man than a black one any time

Dr Thomas Harwell told the Said Taylor Posey that if he said that again he would were him out with his cane Posey Deputing his former statement that he would rather pay a white man than a black one. The Said Dr Thomas Harwell struck the Said Taylor Posey

Taylor Posey then caught his cane when the Dr Struck & [[strikthrough]] Rock [[/strikethrough]] cicked him The Said Mr Posey then struck Dr Thomas Harwell twice. The Said Dr. Thomas Harwell then called on John Hayzellwood for a hand up & for help when he Hayzellwood come up & took away the cane from Taylor Posey
