Important matter - Thornton the Secretary I know less about though he is competent and I hope will discharge his duties with fidelity. The others will have little to do only to sit as advisers & jurors at their Meetings.
But there is a rivalry, and I give it as My Opinion that the present Organization is the best and the present Officers as good as Could be Selected for both white & Black
I am not the advocate any one in particular but would say to remove Johnson & Danger it would to say the least destroy Confidence to a very considerable intent - I think he ought to have the right to select his assistant, he being held strictly responsible for the Conduct of both - These suggestions are gratuitous and written without the knowledge of any one - For which I hope you will pardon - I still feel some interest in the Darkies welfare

Resfly Yours, John A Jackson
