I have this day transferred the bill of sale received of R.E. Farwell for a house in Contraband Camp to Levi Coffin Gen'l Agent of American Freedmen's Aid Commission. Western Department, for the sum of One Hundred and Fifty Dollars. Cash. 

I have understood since receiving the money that Capt. Isenstein Q. M. of this Post claims that the sale by  Mr Farwell was illegal - on the ground that the Q.M. Dept. owned the lumber in the building. It was understood here previous to the discontinuance of the Camp,
