Respectfully returned the public buildings referred to within have been found upon examination to be entirely unsuitable for the purposes required, there are no means of heating the rooms. The houses which we now occupy will be created as soon as suitable Rooms can be obtained.

States that the obstacles in the way of the Freedmen's Schools still exists that the Barracks are positively referred to by the Mil Authorities, that Capt Mann Bureau Q.M. is unable to furnish either rooms or lumber for the erection of temporary buildings; Asks if there is not some way by which lumber can be furnished him for a building and for desks & seats
