Respectfully returned. I had a hearing upon this case and Griffith produced abundant testimony that he did not take the arms, but was at the time as one of the County police acting under the orders of Lt. Munson, R.F & A.L. in the collection of Arms belonging to the U.S, and was at the time in a distant part of the county.

Roger produced no evidence, whatever, and acknowledged that he was absent from home at the time.
