Supt. who [[strikethrough]] will [[/strikethrough]] is directed to take evidence as to the age of the girl "Edie" at the time the Indentures of Apprenticeship were made, And if it appears, that she was over 14 years of age, he will annull said Indentures. Lt. Tipton will also, examine the Indentures of apprenticeship to see if they were made, or approved by an authorized Agent of this Bureau - if not they are void - These papers to be returned with report of your action endorsed.

Respectfully returned to Lt. McComber. Asst. Supt, who will make requisition for Rations for such sick, aged and infirm people as in his opinion- after careful investigation - are proper subjects to receive Aid. He will also, make requisition for such articles of clothing as may be necessary until ample provision is made by the Civil Authoritys for the care of paupers, who are aged, sick, and helpless. Such persons will not be forcibly removed from the plantations where they were living at the close of the war.
