I have the honor to acknowledge rec'pt of your request, dated April 12" 1866. for me to turn over to the Bureau the marine hospital building, now used as a hospital for the garrison at this post. Your application being based upon the approval of an application for the building, by the Hon. Sec of War.

I have the honor to state that I at once refered your request to the Medical Director Dept. N.C. for instructions, and have recd the following telegram from him

Raleigh N.C. April 14" 1866

"Don't turn over the hospital building without special order from me"
