Dear sir things are working off very smoothly now in my county now some of the citizens over north of Hatcher got very uneasy the other day & tried to get up a Feppote county scrape they wanted me to detail several parties in their settlement to arrest the parties & bring them to justice when they had not violated the Laws as I could ascertain & I directed them to call on the the magistrate if the Negroes violated the & free the offender if he should prove guilty & some of the same parties tell me to day all has yet

I changed Hatchee to Hatcher after doing an online search for cities in TN. I don't think Feppote is right but couldn't find a better option in the list of TN counties.
