Dear Mrs. Tajiri:

I received your letter asking me to do two paintings of this relocation center to be given to Dillon Myers and President Roosevelt. I shall be glad to do the paintings for this purpose. However, I would like to paint on silk size about 16" x 20". If I do these on silk, it would cost about $25 for the two paintings. This is only cost for materials as I have to use expensive powdered jewel pigments to paint on silk. The value of the paintings would be over $150. Will you let me know of the JACL can go into such expense?

I am equally sorry that I missed seeing both of you, but I hope that we shall be able to meet again soon. I am at present quite busy with my school here.
Yuri and Mrs. Obata are quite well and send their regard to Larry and you.

Upon hearing from you, I shall start on the paintings so that I can send it to the office before Christmas.

                                    Sincerely yours,

                                    Chiura Obata
