Dear Mr. Myer:

Mr. Mokuichi Kinbara and Mrs. Fusa Kinoara I have known them since 1932 when I moved to Berkeley from San Francisco to teach at the University of California. Mr. Kinbara and I are both interested in fishing and belonged to the East Bay Fishing Club. Through this hobby I got to know him quite well as we use to go out fishing every week together. Mr. Kinbara was one of the owners of the University Laundry for 30 years in Berkeley and had been doing business with mostly American residents of that city.

Mr. and Mrs. Kinbara are both earnest and very hard working people. Among the Berkeley and surrounding East Bay community, I have never heard any bad remarks about their character. People have always commented upon their kindness and their honesty. Many times I have been invited to their home and have noticed that they keep their home very comfortable, clean, and very pleasant in their manner of receiving guests. (They sent their only daughter born in the United States to the University of California where she graduated in Commerce.)

As stated before, on these fishing trips I took w with him we talked of the beautiful nature and resources of America and he would always say how much he appreciated the opportunities of this country. I hope this answer to you concerning Mr. and Mrs. Kinbara will help to get his clearance whenever he desires to relocated and I am sure they will make good residents wherever they settle.

Sometime ago I sent Mr. Mike Masaoka a painting titled "Peaceful Moonlight" of Topaz which was presented to you through the National JAC. I hope you have received it and enjoy the painting of our center in Utah. I am very bush [[busy]] directing the Art School here and have made several trips to the different surrounding towns near here to give lectures and demonstration of art.

Very sincerely yours,
