The Famed Chinese Aviatrix Landing at Airport

Three chinese less-no relation to each other-at the country Airport today where Aviatrix Lee, right, landed to seek aid for civilian in stricken China. Miss New Gee Lee is a representative of the Chinese Benevolent Society in Pittsburgh. 

Chinese Girl Flies Here To Aid War Relief Fund

Wearing white slacks and blouse, and a red rose in her hair, Miss Ya-Ching Lee, Chinese aviatrix, came to Pittsburgh today to seek aid for civilian relief in China.

Louise Thaden, Pittsburgh flier, led the planes that escorted Miss Lee into the County Airport. Other local aviatrixes and members of the Ninety -Niners who greeted her included Helen Richey, Frances Allen, Teresa James, Grace Carroll and Catherine May Edwards.

Others who welcomed Miss Lee included Miss New Gee Lee, of the Chinese Benevolent Society; Lily Yee, of the Lee Association, and Col. Harry P. Fry, of the Aero Club of Pittsburgh.

Mayor Scully later received the Chinese aviatrix at City Hall. Her tour is sponsored by a national committee for China's Civilian Relief. She will speak at a Shriners' luncheon at noon tomorrow in Hotel William Penn, and at 8 p.m. at a meeting in the First Unitarian Church, Ellsworth and Moorehead Avenues.
        
Miss Lee's visit is sponsored by the Committee for Boycott Against Japanese Aggression and the Chinese Institute of Pittsburgh.
