Script for Cleveland Interview

INTERVIEWER: Here is China's "First Lady of the Air", Miss Lee Ya Ching.
Tell me, Miss Lee, are all the girls in China as pretty as you
              are?

MISS LEE: Well, there aren't very many, so you see I don't have much
              competition.

INTERVIEWER: How long have you been flying, Miss Lee?

MISS LEE: About ten years.

INTERVIEWER: You must have started when you were an infant. I like to
              watch you handle the Aeronca.

MISS LEE: And I like to fly it. It means so much to my work.

INTERVIEWER: What is your work, Miss Lee?

MISS LEE: I fly in order to help my country. To tell the American
people about China, and to ask them to help us in building
              the new China.

INTERVIEWER: Are you finding your trip a success?

MISS LEE: Oh, yes, I am very grateful for the way Americans are
              helping me.

INTERVIEWER: Do you intend to stay in this country, Miss Lee?

MISS LEE: I should like to live here, but I must go back to China. I
want to fly an ambulance plane there. So many of my people
are dying because of lack of medical care.

INTERVIEWER: From the way I have watched you handle that plane, I know
you will be a good ambulance pilot. The best of luck to
              you, Miss Lee.

MISS LEE: Thank you.
