H Dillard Esqr of Cookville proposed to buy him back if he would behave himself, as he wanted a Boy to attend to his horse, make fires, bring water, &c. he paid me eleven hundred dollars for him he was willing for Dillard to buy him where Dillard can spare him he hired him to Mr. Crutcher the tavern keeper who he boarded with, to help pay his board in a short time said Boy and Crutchers Boy was sent out to haul wood. said Henry tryed to kill Crutchers Boy with an axe. Dillard then took him to Nashville and sold him. I do not Recollect what he got for him. Said Henry has Returned and says Genl Fisk the head officer of the Bureau at Nashville told him to come and demand of me the price H. H. Dillard sold him for and if I Refused to pay him that he (Genl Fisk) would give him authority to collect the sum of fourteen hundred [[smudged out]] fifty Dollars off of me.
