My Dear Sir
For the first time in my life do I attempt to address the head of the Nation and being an Entire Stranger to you I cannot Expect that attention that could be given to an old friend or acquaintance, but I write with the hope that you will not turn a deaf Ear to my supplications if it be in your power to remove the cause and to acquaint you of what I desire I shall have to be a little tedious in my narrative and beg that you bear with me on the subject.
