General
Mr Jno A Jackson has shown me your communication to him of the 25nd inst & I beg to reply that I have never signed any receipts, in relation to the expenses of the Freedmen here. I have never seen the accounts since they were sent to your office to be audited. And if they have been signed in my name the signature was without my authority and a forgery. And as an act of justice to me, I beg of you the Juror, to send the "receipted voucher" to which you refer, to Ms Jackson in order that I may inspect them and detect the imposition which has been practiced upon me. I beg of you also to inform me of whether the vouchers were sent to me in a sealed envellop. General permit me to repeat again that I have seriously suffered in the matter. My property is now being executed for a Physicians Bill which I assumed for attention to the Freedmen under treatment in the Hospital in this place And if a full and fair investigation can be had then
