Investigation of Passenger Complaint

In reference to your letter of October 10, 1947, the Captain of Trip 53, September 25th, was interviewed as regarding the complaints.

He states that the girls had not been drinking as charged but were in a hilarious mood on their vacation.

As to the smoking, the claim is correct, and through his own negligence, believed the smoking rule applied only to Stewardesses.

He was advised that the Company highly endorsed flight crews to make visits to the cabin, but suggested better judgment in the length of stay and to avoid 100% attention to one or two individuals. Also, his attention was drawn to the regulation as pertains to smoking.

It is believed an incident of this type will not occur again with this pilot.
