REGULATIONS
FLIGHT

Section 3501 - Route Procedure: General
1. From the take-off until arrival at next stop, all flight maneuvers shall be conducted in accordance with Civil Air Regulations, Canadian Air Regulations and Company Regulations. Engines and airplane shall be handled as outlined in the Company Airplane Manual or Flight Manual.
2. All flights shall proceed along the established course and when conducting instrument or over-the-top flight, Captains shall follow on course signals, proceeding on established instrument course toward point cleared to, definitely checking position at all radio range stations and radio range intersections designated as fixes and conduct flight in accordance with standard approved instrument procedure. 
3. Captains shall endeavor to estimate arrival times over established check points as accurately as possible. Estimates will be given as outlined by Airway Traffic Control instructions, and Captains are cautioned not to deviate from Airway Traffic Control instructions in force without first obtaining approval of desired deviations. 
4. Captains are cautioned to repeat back all Airway Traffic Control clearance instructions and all Company instructions received in flight. If necessary to re-clear a plane while in flight, the Dispatcher on duty will issue the re-clearance as soon as conditions permit. Promptly upon receipt of re-clearance as soon as conditions permit. Promptly upon receipt or re-clearance, the Captains shall furnish revised estimates in accordance with the re-clearance instructions.
5. All flights shall be governed by the Flight Altitude Rules issued by the Civil Aeronautics Board. 
6. No flight shall deviate from the prescribed limits of the airway unless the circumstances render such deviation necessary as a safety measure. When such deviation is necessary, the Captain shall, upon completion of the flight, furnish the Director of Flight Operations with a written statement, in triplicate, explaining the conditions which necessitated the deviation. Two copies of this statement will be forwarded to the Vice President, who, in turn, will forward one copy to the Civil Aeronautics Board.
7. When the Captain encounters an emergency situation which requires a deviation from prescribed methods in the interest of safety, he may, in such situations, resolve upon a course of action which is required by the factors and the information available to him and deviate from prescribed methods, procedures or minimums, to the extent required by considerations of safety. Upon completion of the flight, the Captain shall furnish the Director of Flight Operations with a written statement, in triplicate, explaining the conditions
