In reporting ice, the Captain shall also state whether the wings or propellers are affected (or both) and in the case of wing forming on the windshield shall not be used as a means of determining amount of ice on the wings.
18. Whenever a Captain is confronted with a condition which may require the flight to remain in the air longer than planned before departure, and if there is any probability that fuel supply will not be adequate if cruising horsepower is used, the Captain is responsible to conserve fuel by setting propeller and manifold pressure reading at best setting for fuel conservation.

19. Whenever a flight is being held at a radio fix because of airways traffic, the airspeed shall normally be reduced to 120 m. p. h.
20. Captains are requested to report any irregularities noted in the operation of Airway Navigation facilities promptly by radio to the Dispatcher on duty.
21. Immediately before starting an instrument approach procedure, the Captain shall check with the ground station and obtain station altimeter settings . (See Section 5001: Paragraph 9-5, Section 3046, A-2)
22. Contact flights along the Airway shall remain in the right hand side of the prescribed Airway and shall not deviate from the regular Airway except in an emergency. Deviations within the limits of the Airway for sightseeing purposes will not be permitted unless approved by the Dispatcher on duty.
23. Prior to landing at an airport, all contact flights shall report "in range" by radio to the nearest company station. When landing at scheduled stops, the "in range" report shall be given when passing over the designated "in range" reporting point listed below. This report shall not include the location of the flight, unless for some exceptional reason the flight is not over the designated "in range" point, but it shall include the altitude of the flight when over the "in range" point.
Example: "Burlington from Colonial four-in range Burlington 1500 descending." (If field equipped with control tower change over to tower control)
24. When landing at other than scheduled stops, the "in range" report shall be given when approximately 25 miles out from the airport.
25. After the "in range" report, an additional report shall be made when passing over the designated "inner-contact" point. 
Example: "Burlington from Colonial four "Inner-contact."
