the Chicago meeting. Since returning from Chicago I have put in no time on work for A.L.P.A. though I have told both Mr. Stiles and Mr. Gitt that I was prepared to go ahead if they so requested.

Since I was not present at the time the financial arrangements were discussed, I am clearing this letter through Mr. Stiles, and asking him to verify my understanding that there is omitted from your statement the May bill of $1,781.51. Doubtless, except for the unfortunate occurrences of Memorial Day week end, it would have been sent to you some weeks ago.

I realize that the events of the last few weeks have kept you very much preoccupied in other connections, and these events have the effect also of absorbing the attention of association committees. I hope, as I am sure you do, that we will have in the next several months a freedom from mishaps which will permit other work, such as that on the retirement system, to receive the full attention which it needs in order to make proper progress.

Sincerely yours,

Murray W. Latimer
