air safety recommendations to send to Mr. Pennock for a new start. If each council sends one, it would be far more than this number. This is an important assignment -- important to every ALPA member and to the industry. We must not fail to make recommendations on air safety on the enclosed form, on everything we feel needs attention -- aids, obstructions, fields, runways, lights, equipment, and everything else. Headquarters is constantly hearing about equipment failures, fires, bad obstructions, holes in the runways, yet very little comes to Headquarters until something happens and then there is immediately finger-pointing about ALPA not having taken care of urgent safety matters. The answer is ALPA can't take care of anything it doesn't know about. We must all cooperate and not overlook anything. Do your part now and get the air safety recommendations of your council down in writing on a regular ALPA air safety form and send it to Headquarters.

Sincerely yours,

AIR LINE PILOTS ASSOCIATION
