1. The Sporry ADF system has been replaced with a Bendix ADF system consisting of a type MN receiver, MN31A Loop Antenna, BC 434 Remote Control Unit, and a typo 182A Azmuth indicator.
To put this system into operation it is necesssary to throw the master radio switch located in the master radio switch box and the function selector switch located on the pedestal ADF control head to the “on” position. With the function switch in the “COMP” position automatic ADF action is obtained. Proper tuning of the equipment is made by adjusting the frequency tuning control to the point of maximum clockwise swing of the tuning indicator needle. In “AHT” position of the function switch the equipment operates as a straight range reciever. In “Loop” position of the function switch the equipment operates as a manual DF system. Bilateral bearings may be obtained in the loop position by rotating the loop antenna electrically by means of the “Loop L-R” switch on the control head. Frequency band selection, dial light brilliancy, and volume control are obtained by manipulating the proper controls which are plainly marked. Operation of all other radio equipment in 21758 is standard with that of the abovementioned aircraft.
