Dear Mr. Silver:

On October 20, 1948, we received the following telegram from Mr. Dykes:

"WE ARE ANXIOUS TO RESUME NEGOTIATIONS TO COMPLETE THE EARLIEST POSSIBLE DATE STOP PLEASE ADVISE."

We have today wired Mr. Dykes as follows:

"RETEL PRESENT SCHEDULE INDICATED WE CAN RESUME CONFERENCES NOVEMBER 16. ADVISE IF THIS DATE IS ACCEPTABLE."

As you know, the Convention starts Tuesday, November 9, and it is possible it will continue through Saturday, November 13. November 16 is the earliest date we can meet with the Company and we trust this suggested date will meet with your approval.

Sincerely yours,
