(f) Mileage Pay Computation

1. In computing speed for mileage pay purposes the mileage used shall be the actual miles flown on scheduled flights or alternate routes as recorded in the aircraft log, provided that the speed for mileage pay computation purposes shall be 155 mph for Douglas DC-3 airplanes and 205 mph for the Douglas DC-4 Skymaster airplanes.

2. On non-scheduled flights, as defined in Section 2 (h), the mileage used shall be the point-to-point mileage on the route of a scheduled flight, alternate routes thereof, or over the Federal Airways on which definite mileage has been established. If the flight does not operate as stipulated in the preceding sentence and the actual ground point-to-point distance cannot be determined, the mileage shall be established through the use of the time flown from block-to-block, and the speed shall be 155 mph for Douglas DC-3 airplane and 210 mph for Douglas DC-4 airplanes.

3. When a change in a calendar date occurs en route, the date on which the trip originated shall be considered the date on which the trip was made and to which date all time for the trip for pay purposes only shall be credited.

(g) Minimum Monthly Guarantee

First pilots assigned to the Company's Transoceanic Operation shall be paid a minimum amount of monthly compensation, in accordance with their applicable rates of compensation stipulated in the Agreement for seventy (70) hours of flying, one-half day and on-half night, provided that when the compensation of such pilots computed in accordance with the parts of this Agreement relating to pay exceed the minimum amounts stipulated in this Section, such higher amounts will be paid.

MINIMUM PAY RESERVE PILOTS:

SECTION 4. (a) A reserve pilot shall receive, as a minimum, his copilot's pay and, in addition, shall receive first pilot's hourly, gross weight, mileage and transoceanic pay while acting as first pilot, but in no month shall his total pay exceed the amount which he would have received if all of his flying during that month had been accomplished as first pilot, at first pilot's rates, in accordance with his seniority base pay status.

(b) Reasonable effort shall be made to schedule regularly assigned first pilots on regular schedules in a manner which will as nearly as possible use up all their allowable monthly hours.
