Gentlemen:
I have the letter of January 19, 1950, verifying the deadlocking of the Board on the Reserve Pilots' Case. Judge Simmons is to act as neutral in hearing the Gitt Grievance on or about March 22nd and if it is the desire of the pilots to have Judge Simmons hear this case also, overtures should be made to the Company with that in mind. Personally, my opinion is that the merits of the pilots' claims in the Reserve Pilots Grievance will not be as obvious to a neutral as might be desired. However, the Decision as to what to do with that case, now that it is deadlocked, is entirely up to the pilots.

I shall appreciate hearing from you at your early convenience.

Very truly yours,
AIR LINE PILOTS ASSOCIATION
