Re: Age 60 Committee

Dear Jim:

To continue our practice of mutual coordination, I want to advise that, at its August 14-15 meeting in Washington, the Committee explored means to preserve, for pilots compelled to retire at age 60, employment rights on their respective carriers in flight occupations other than line pilot. In conjunction with associated efforts to assure that current employment agreements permit such utilization, it may also be the case that P.L. 90-202 invalidates carrier refusals in this regard. Obviously, this effort will have to be pursued on a carrier-by-carrier basis, but it seems necessary at the outset to obtain some better perspective on the dimensions of our problem.

This leads me to our first opportunity to take advantage of your kind offer to make available any needed date from your Department. Would you kindly provide me with a list
