Conclusion

The items mentioned above are but a broad survey of the categories of information and areas of research for proper litigation preparation. Aviation is technically complicated and a very dynamic activity -- but it is probably the safest method of travel. Safety is the result of careful planning, learning from past mistakes and strict discipline in adhering to proven safe practice. It is my opinion that every aviation accident is the result of human error of some type. The error may be due to piloting, flight planning, weather forecasting, maintenance, manufacture, design or traffic control. It is the attorney's duty to utilize the legal tools available to explore every facet of causation. The attorney must evaluate and explore the investigator's result and begin from there to build his case. As you have probably surmised, I have't found a short-cut for aviation litigation; hard work and experience is the only workable formula.
