ALPA ^[[M. Gitt]] AIR LINE PILOTS ASSOCIATION MANHATTAN, N.Y. BRANCH OFFICE CHANIN BUILDING 122 EAST 42ND STREET - SUITE 1017-19 NEW YORK, N.Y. 10017 (212) 661 - 8757 AFFILIATED WITH A.F.L.-C.I.O. INT'L------ July 28, 1968 Mr. Charles Ruby, President Air Line Pilots Association 55th Street & Cicero Avenue Chicago, Illinois 60638 Dear Charlie: In regard to our telephone conversation about two weeks ago, with reference to pursuing ALPA business while on vacation, I recently came across the latest copy of the Policy Manual, dated April 1967, which I think clarifies the situation of my claim. My vacation period started from the time of my last trip, May 12, 1968, and lasted up to the end of July. During this time I attended a Joint Age 60, and Aeromedical Committee meetings in Chicago. On June 5th, 6th, 7th, and July 8th, 9th, and 10th I attended Age 60 Committee meetings in Seattle. Page 17 of the Policy Manual mentioned provisions on "return of lost vacation time". In view of this added information, would you kindly approve payment for these seven days of lost time and send me the appropriate form so I can properly submit my claim? Thank you for your consideration and with best regards, I am, Sincerely, M.A. Gitt/B. Michael A. Gitt MAG:b cc: Executive Committee Members
