Dear Captain Flournoy:
Your recent letter regarding the present status of the forced retirment issue was encouraging to say the least. I am glad to hear that ALPA is pursuing this issue with the best leagl talent available and hopefully a strong and positiove program will result from this action.

Your suggestion of having a working group of airline people to coordinate with Mr. Wiess and Padole appears to be a satisfactory approach and of course I realize that the Board does have to be convinced of the merits of this case.

I would appreciate your including in the planned Board meeting the oppor-tunity for the appearance of Captains Gilt and Richardson. First this action would fulfill the requirments of the Council 51 Resolution dated the 7th of December 1967 and also lend support to the Boards position.

I will expect that your office will keep these Captains informed as to dates and locations, also if conferences with either the Board or attorneys are required your office will also arrange these meetings. As stated before, expenses for the appearance of Captain Gilt at any meeting will be borne by Council 51,

Very respectfully yours,

Bruce A. McDougal
Chairman Council 51
