Dear Jim:

I have the following comments regarding the proposed minutes of the Age 60 Committee Meeting held in Washington, D.C. on March 7-8, 1968. I am sorry that a particularly crowded schedule has made it impossible to get them to you sooner.

Re: Paragraph 5, Page 1:
I, of course, am the committee member who suggested a revision of the minutes of the previous meeting and prepared them during the evening of March 7 for the Committee's review on March 8. However, when a new approach to Mike's petition was presented with the early departure trips scheduled for some committee members, the proposed revision to the minutes seemed to me to have a very low priority and therefore were not submitted. My concern was primarily a matter of clarification and in view of the time elapsed I believe it is better to let them stand as originally written.

Re: Paragraph 6, Page 1:
I believe the minutes should indicate that a suggestion was made that all MEC's be contacted regarding the Age 60 program with the further suggestion that they give consideration to attaining the retention of seniority rights for pilots at least up to age 65 because on many air lines, a future change in the FAA Age 60 rule would not provide effective relief for a growing number of ALPA members, whose contracts have been or are about to be terminated because they have reached chronological age 60.
