The Tiny YWCA "Y"

VOL. I. No. 2.
February 29th, 1928.

A "Y" GIRL SPEAKS.
-BEING A HANDWRITTEN PAGE OF PHILOSOPHY.

Perhaps it is presumptuous for me to write on a "Y" girl's philosophy. I claim only tho authority of one who has had a membership in the Association for five years, and an even longer period of intimate acquaintance with hundreds of Girls who "belong"

The ideal "Y" girl thinks of life as a balance of parts -Body-Mind-Spirit. Those elements unite to give her poise in her own personal life. She discovers a "sense of the intangible". She finds it easier to form pleasant relationships with the outside world, because she believes in respecting the personality of other people. She would "see through things" as well as "think things through". Her seeking every opportunity for self-expression is the result of her desire for personal growth. She must know herself. She must determine carefully her assets and her liabilities. She proves to herself that she can do things. She becomes conscious of her powers. She loses her inferiority complex. She develops Originality-Spontaneity-Poise.
