Precious Memories of Hugh Hollins

There are many words to describe a person's character and we use them to identify how we see that individual. Obedient, steadfast, meticulous, thorough, successful, content and honorable are just a few words used when identifying how Hugh Hollins led his personal and business life.
Born November 2, 1913 to Walter and Beolder Hollins of Gilmer, Texas in Upshur County, the baby boy of seven children, histalent of barbering and business skills began at eight years of age. While providing his obligation to the family farm, he managed to build and improve his barbering skills with every free moment, and established quite a reputation as a hairstylist throughout the community, along with his knack for conversation.
Moving to Oklahoma in 1946, he established a business in the Greenwood District. On September 18, 1953 he was united in holy matrimony to Naomi Hollins, who also became his business partner for four-two successful years. Mr. Hollins was also a faithful member of Saint Andrew Baptist Church for four-six years until his health failed. He supported his pastor and his church in tithes and offering. He had served as a trustee many years ago.
On August 15, 2000 Hugh Hollins completed his business and personal affairs to be with his Heavenly Father.
He leaves behind to cherish his memories: his brother, Eunice Hollins of Pittsburgh, Texas: niece, Ella Miller of the home; niece, Barbara Taylor of Tulsa; a host of relatives and friends; and very close and dear friends, Brooks and Marie Curry.
