The following is a discription of the Negro - Black with short whiskers 30 to 35 years of age, about 5 feet 9 inches high, had on Old Boots, Cotton pants dyed in bark dye, domestic shirt - Military (US) Cavelry jacket - with military metal butons on it - an old US cavelry over coat - been dyed in Bark dye, was riding a small yellow sorrel mule, looks to be old [[strikethrough]] and [[/strikethrough]] and an old Cavelry saddle.
The other Negroes was traced to wards the foot of the mountain, and it is thought they went in the direction of Chattanooga - It is also thought that they have some unprincibeld white person or persons connected with them, who pays the Negroes to steal horses and rob, and that the whites runs the horses and sells them after the Negroes steals and delivers them to the white men. I will first state here that Sequatchee County is generally peacible law abiding citizens, and are detriment to inforce the civil laws of the country and that he violates the law be he  who he may be he may expect to suffer the penaltys of the law. It is very much regreted that the above affare has taken place amongst us. Mr Green is a peacable citizen. He was discharged from the Federal Army last summer. He belonged to Company K. 4th Regiment East Tennessee Cavlery and has an honorable discharge.
