General:
I have the honor to recommend that John Irvin Esq. of Jackson, Madison Co. Tenn. be appointed as Agent of the Bureau R.F.&A.L. for the counties of Madison, Henderson & Decatur, since Alvin Allen Esq. resigned.

Mr. Irvin is Magistrate at Jackson Tenn. and is well spoked of by all parties as an honest upright man; fearless in the discharge of his duties and will in my opinion make a good and efficient agent.
