Bureau Refugees, Freedmen and Abandoned Lands,
Knox County, Tennessee.
SUPERINTENDENTS OFFICE,
Knoxville, Tenn., Mar. 24 1867

Lieut S.W. Groesbeck
A.A.A. Gen'l &c.

I have the honor to report that I canvassed Roane & Morgan Counties last week, & Blount & Monroe would complete my labors, but Capt. Walker wishes me to go into Meigs & Rhea, which I have concluded to do, though my orders do not include those counties, but there is property
to lease, & rents to collect, in those counties and we think it quite necessary to canvass
them before leaving the field. If the weather should continue pleasant, I will be in your city by the middle of next week.

In consequence of paying horse hire & expense of the same in traveling over the country I am not prepared to account for all the money I have collected, and will not forward a report, but will bring it.
