Jefferson Co. into Cooke, where no more property remains, collected rents, & re-rented one farm; and went into Greene, thence to Washington Carter, and Johnson, where I collected more money than in any other one County, but none of the property in that county has ever been restored, and like all other Counties, the most valuable farms are now out of our hands. After Spending a week in Johnson County I returned through Elizabethtown to Jonesboro; finishing up all unfinished business on the way, including the last named place, and while returning from the last farm, and having riden [[ridden]] about 34 miles that day, my horse crippled himself; which caused a delay of about two weeks; when I started again, via Greeneville to Rodgersville, at the last named place.
