The accused Eusha Stanley, Henry Stanley, and Tobe Ring were committed to jail until the next term of court the 1st Monday of February 1867. at Springfield Tenn. to stand their trial for said offense.
I desire to call to the attention of the Actg. Asst Com'. the impartial manner in which justice Joseph Hardaway acted in the case. Leaving aside all prejudice and acting merely for the welfare of the whole community - he refused to have the accused bailed.
The decided action of the Justice in the case will tend in a great measure to prevent a renewal of such outrages in that section.
