Burpee's Seeds Grow. A simple statement but carrying conviction of its truth in its very simplicity. In looking through the various seed advertisements, this strikes a reader at once. For whether seeds grow or not is the fundamental question concerning them. Price is entirely secondary.

The remainder of the advertisement clearly and concisely adds just such information as I wish to know about a firm before becoming interested enough to write for a catalog.

Quality first; Efficient service; Seeds delivered free by Parcel Post; Prices not raised because of the war.

Four statements, briefly but convincingly written. There is no special offer of cheap of free seeds but one cannot but feel that the back of that advertisement stands a firm whose seeds are dependable and whose dealings will be fair.

I sent for a catalog and I ordered seeds which came to me recently. They came promptly by return mail. They were correctly packed and with them were several sample packets of seeds for free trial and a collection of valuable leaflets on various phazes of planting and growing seeds. I felt that my judgement of the firm had been correct. )
